Fort Barli sits in Badli village in Ajmer district, about 8 km from Bijainagar Railway Station and roughly 182 km from Jaipur by road. It's a working countryside fort, not a city hotel, so this itinerary is built around the property itself and the village around it, with Ajmer and Pushkar treated as a separate excursion rather than squeezed into a single morning.
Day 1: Arrival and the Fort
Check-in opens onto the fort's courtyards, and most guests spend their first hour simply walking them, taking in the frescoed corridors before unpacking. From there, a guided walk through the armoury, treasury, and the Mardana and Zenana quarters lays out the fort's own history: which rooms belonged to the men's side of the household, which to the women's, and what's changed since. The afternoon slows down at the infinity pool, built into one of the fort's bastions, with the surrounding countryside visible past the edge of the water. Dinner is Rajasthani food in the Heritage Dining Room, cooked from the family's own recipes rather than a standard hotel menu.
Day 2: Village and Heritage Walk
The second day moves outward, into Barli village itself, home to around 4,000 people, most of them farmers. A bullock cart safari through the village's streets is usually the first stop, followed by the Heritage Walk on foot: old stepwells, frescoed cenotaphs, homes still lived in by village families, and the potters who still work there. Guests who prefer a slower morning can request sunrise yoga instead, arranged at the property. Afternoons are set aside for an Ayurvedic spa session, and dinner moves outdoors, under the sky when the weather allows it. Birding and cooking demonstrations can both be arranged at the property for guests who want to add either into the day.
Day 3: Departure, or Extending to Ajmer and Pushkar
Ajmer is about 76 km from Fort Barli, and Pushkar is around 91 km. Both are real half-day trips each way rather than a quick morning out, so guests wanting to see Ajmer's Dargah Sharif and Taragarh Fort, or Pushkar's ghats and Brahma Temple, are better served adding an extra day to the stay than trying to fit either in before checkout. For guests departing on schedule, the third morning is left free for a final walk through the fort or a slow breakfast before check-out.
